Description

Program Structure Curriculum: All lessons follow the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim curriculum. Session Length: 2 weeks per session (Monday – Thursday). Classes per Session: 8 classes total Class Times: 5:15 – 6:00 PM: Parent & Child Aquatics (Ages 3–5) 6:15 – 7:00 PM: Learn to Swim – Level 1 (Ages 6–17) Capacity & Instruction Maximum Class Size: 10 students per class. Total Capacity per Session: 20 students (10 per class × 2 classes). Program Reach: With 16 sessions in total, the program can serve up to 320 students at full capacity. Instructor Certification: All classes taught by American Red Cross Certified Water Safety Instructors (WSI). Safety & Quality: Small class sizes allow for safe, personalized instruction with progress tracking.

Who is eligible to participate in the City of Homestead Swimming Program? Is there a cost to participate?

The program is free and only open to children from low-to-moderate income families who live within the City of Homestead limits. Eligibility is verified based on residency and income.

You can confirm your address by reviewing your utility bill. Only households whose address is within the City of Homestead municipal boundaries are eligible to participate.

If you are unsure, you can verify your address using the Miami-Dade County Property Appraiser’s website: https://apps.miamidadepa.gov/PropertySearch/#/.

Applicants must provide the following:

You can submit your application directly through the program’s registration portal. All required documents must be uploaded or presented at the time of application.

You will receive an email from [1SAS Email Address] confirming your child’s enrollment once eligibility has been verified and space is available. Once accepted lessons will take place at Roby George Park Pool – 201 SW 11th Avenue, Homestead, FL 33030.

No you only need one, you must provide one of the accepted forms of proof (Medicaid, SNAP, or WIC) to qualify. Without one of these, we cannot confirm eligibility under federal CDBG guidelines.
