Job Description

Oversees the day-to-day operation of the assigned aquatic facility/beach or Water park, general supervision, and safety of guests and staff in the designated aquatic facility or facilities, and ensures that all appropriate water health and safety standards are maintained. Works under the direct supervision of the Director of National Development.

Lifeguard Requirements

· Oversees and coordinates the recruitment, training, scheduling, Certification, and performance of employees of the facility; supervises the day-to-day activities of staff.

· Oversees and coordinates the facility’s administration, including scheduling facility operations.

· Responsible for visiting sites regularly or daily if needed.

· Requires travelling with short notice to support the company needs and or emergencies on other locations outside of the state or county.

Requires travelling for training and self-development to main officer or other facilities outside of the county or state.

· Required to report to work and cover the facility on short notice.

· Ensures that all appropriate water, environmental, health, and safety standards are maintained; ensures pools comply with all local, state, and national requirements and are current on all necessary certifications.

· Prepare staff schedules.

· Plans, schedules, and conducts in-service training workshops.

· Teach Lifeguard classes as part of their responsibilities.

· Participates in and teaches aquatic and safety certification training sessions, as necessary.

· Participates in developing annual operating budgets and provides fiscal direction to the unit.

· Develops and maintains records of operational facility usage; monitors and maintains inventories of pool equipment and supplies.

· Prepares statistical reports monthly and makes data and narratives for inclusion in annual reports.

· Represents the organization at various community and/or business meetings, committees, and task forces; promotes existing and new programs and/or policies.

· Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

· Review the work of subordinates for completeness and accuracy, evaluate performance and make recommendations for improvement, offer training, advise and assist as needed.

· Work as manager and Lifeguard and perform facility maintenance as needed. Performing rescue procedures and administering first aid and CPR in emergencies.

· Required to teach Lifeguard classes scheduled by the company to future lifeguard prospects.

· Perform general administrative/office duties as required.

· Other duties as assigned by the management.

Experience

· Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or equivalent experience, with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a supervisory capacity, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

· Must possess CPR, First Aid certifications, and Lifeguard Training.

· Must possess Lifeguard instructor certification or willing to take it within 6 months of employment.

· For Swim Pools, sites must be CPO, AFO, and Pool Inspector certified.

· The position may require taking an Elite guard and an Ellis Lifeguard certification.

· The position requires working a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

· Requires travel and work independently.

· Pass a swim, background, and drug screening.
